Character Information
Name: Mikoto Uchiha.
Canon: Naruto.
Gender: Female
Age: 35.
Birthday: June 1.
Village Affiliation: Konoha.
Rank: Retired Jonin, Uchiha Clan Matriarch & Konoha Council Member.
Appearance: Mikoto looks as she does in canon, a petite and fair-skinned woman with curves plus relatively long black hair that reaches the uppermost part of her tailbone. Sasuke has her face as well, as per canon, though due to the fact that she decides at times to keep her hair up in a bun it can be seen that both Itachi and Sasuke received her hair type. Her eyes are black and she seems to have permanent smiling wrinkles in the corners of her eyes.
Canon Abilities/Powers:
Ninjutsu
Mikoto is particularly skilled in the art of ninjutsu, though not as strong as she is in the aspect of Genjutsu. She prefers to be a passive fighter and her lack of taijutsu skills has a tendency to limit her ninjutsu use. If she does use ninjutsu, it would most likely be a fire or lightning jutsu.
Genjutsu
She has a strange liking of Genjutsu, having created many of her own for infiltration and information gathering purposes during her jonin years.
Bloodline
Mikoto has the Uchiha's bloodline, the Sharingan, but does not posses any of the higher forms of Sharingan, having activated her eyes at the age of 9 and perfecting her technique at the age of 14. This is the Uchiha's ultimate weapon that is made specific use of as she does not prefer to rely on other weapons. Her Sharingan has 3 tomoes as of now, this is inferred as in canon she is the Uchiha Matriarch and had at least reached the jonin ranks at a somewhat young age; therefore she had worked for many of her younger years to improve her genjutsu and chakra limit skills.
Weapon Talents
Summons
Mikoto has a contract with the ninneko, however she does not make use of it often as she had grown fond of the felines whilst also understanding that there were not many uses for the ninneko, other than to use up her money on catnip. However, if stealth and reconnaissance is required, she occasionally does make use of the ninneko summoning.
Sunshineverse History:
Mikoto's canon history stays relatively the same, though after the point of the Uchiha Massacre her history changes, seeing as the Uchiha Clan is not eradicated by her eldest son, Itachi.
As a child, Mikoto had set high standards for herself even though she was looked down upon slightly for harboring sincere feelings that she did not hesitate to push forward. Her family disregarded her 'emotion-filled flaw' when the Uchiha girl effectively proved herself to be a worthy female of the Uchiha Clan through her evident mastery of the Sharingan and rise from Genin to Chuunin to Jonin by the age of 17. Mikoto was vouched for Chuunin by her sensei then Jonin by the head of the Uchiha Clan at the time. This had set her apart to be approved by the clan's elders and she was immediately arranged to marry Fugaku Uchiha at the age of 20 [also the cut-off date of her kunoichi career], the was-current and prized heir of the Uchiha's. Though she had fond and protective feelings for him [though not love at the time], Mikoto also had a strong sense of loyalty towards her clan [which is also reflected in canon as she does not speak up against the inevitable coup de'tat] and did not fight against the marriage. Her relationship with Fugaku is one of contradictions; while she did indeed learn to love him for being himself, flaws and all, she still regrets that she was not able to find him through normal means, that is dating and falling in love. However the Uchiha Clan demanded strength and unity, so she resigned herself to hide her inner feelings, which she has also shared with her close friend, Kushina.
After falling pregnant with her firstborn, Itachi, Mikoto retired from her Jonin duties as tradition required to become a housewife and matriarch with the primary purpose of overseeing the social and empathy inclined side of Uchiha politics with the side goal of protecting her son from the events of the war. The Uchiha Clan were not secluded into a separate compound, at the urging of many stakeholders, so they therefore did acquire many more alliances. Mikoto is known to have also instigated the alliance between the Uchiha and remaining Uzumaki Clan member due to her close relations with 'Kushina Uzumaki', as aforementioned, which also allowed the Uchiha Clan to stay in the favor of the Namikaze Clan Head, Minato Namikaze, Kushina's husband. This allowed for less tension to exist between the clans during the war, though the Hyuuga Clan and Uchiha do have a tendency to not mix other than for village state affairs that Mikoto is involved in.
After the birth of Itachi, Mikoto was called back into the police workforce for a time, therefore leading to Itachi being exposed to many war events more than a child should be at his age and leading to her becoming more and more protective over her family. As she was not around many times to keep a mindful watch on her son, Shisui became her main choice of carer for the boy at the time until she fell pregnant with Sasuke. Well aware of the heart defects in her son, Mikoto effectively distanced herself from many of her Matriarch duties so as to care for her newborn youngest, which therefore allowed for her to care and create a bond with Itachi that she did not have prior whilst also overseeing Itachi's recovery through the sibling bond.
Seeing as she had most likely messed up her duty as mother for Itachi, she resolved to do her best for both of her children, leading Sasuke to be slightly spoiled. Thankful and amused, Mikoto notices that her second son had taken after her in terms of showing of emotion, meaning that Sasuke grew up to be a relatively normal and forward child with dreams and ambitions, different but similar in many ways to Itachi. Her relationship with her sons isn't complex. She is fond of both of her children and is filled with only love for them. She will not and cannot force herself to dislike any aspect of her sons as she understands that people are not perfect and that everyone has a right to finding themselves. This is why during the Shisui and Itachi interactions, Mikoto trusted that Itachi would make the right decision for himself. She is also protective over Itachi and overprotective over Sasuke. While she knows that Itachi can take care of himself, with or without his mother's help, she isn't completely sure about Sasuke's independence, even when he grows into his teenage years.
As her sons grew older, Mikoto once more left the active duty of a kunoichi, instead working foremost in the political realm of the Uchiha Clan, sometimes assisting as an adviser for the Hokage in the Konoha Council. She works to also appease the Uchiha elders whom push for an Uchiha driven Konoha, as she is publicly under the opinion that the descendants of the Senju and Uchiha are destined to work together, as Obito Uchiha had shown. Obito is regarded by Mikoto as practically young enough to be her godson, so she treats him as such, trusting the Hokage enough to allow her sons under his care. She does not know Sasuke's teammates as well as she knows she should, other than Naruto Uzumaki, son of Kushina and Minato (something she believes she helped create with a little good-natured nudge). Safe to say, Mikoto no longer involves herself in the fights of ninjas unless absolutely required to, as request of her husband and the Hokage.
Sunshineverse Abilities/Powers:
Ninjutsu/Genjutsu/Taijutsu
As per the canon verse, Mikoto is still particularly skilled in Genjutsu, though more so in the verse. However, her ninjutsu and taijutsu skills are slightly lower as she has had no use for improving and practicing said skills, other than to train with her sons, due to the fact that no coup de'tat has pressured her into keeping her skills at a higher level. Though, seeing as she lives past the Uchiha Massacre, Mikoto has had more chances and time to collect new genjutsu pertaining to the art of information collection to assist the Uchiha Clan in their work.
Summons
As she lives for a longer amount of time in the Sunshineverse, Mikoto furthermore finds more uses for the ninneko she had created a contract with, relying on them more so as distraction and also as assistants in attacking through being able to summon more than two ninneko at once.
Personality:
Mikoto is a very prominent figure in the Konoha society, mother of the Uchiha heirs, Matriarch of the Uchiha Clan and a member of the Konoha Council. Her statuses and occupations in the Leaf Village all display her over flowing loyalty to her Clan and Village. She is very clear cut on what she expects and what is required of herself as one of the Heads of a Clan, leading self-motivated and independent, as seen in canon. On the other hand, while she is guided by the stern path set out for her, which she ultimately does not despise because she knows that becoming the Mikoto of today was her purpose, the kindness of her heart also leads her with more empathy towards people, also fulfilling her role as the Matriarch; to do what the Head of the Clan cannot [that is, take care of the feelings of the clan].
One aspect of Mikoto that Uchiha's do not primarily have and something that she had a tendency to be reprimanded for are, ultimately, caring feelings. She cares about what others think of themselves, of the world, of people. She has no qualms with whatever people think of her, may it be mother or monster, but Mikoto does care very much about the people she surrounds herself with. With that said, she is also a very nurturing and mothering person, fussing and protecting her children, friends and family in any way she can without interfering with their growth. She is very ambitious in that way, always wanting to see others grow and bloom, such as through her guidance of Sasuke's training and urges for him to reach for the stars.
As a Matriarch, Mikoto had always been taught to keep her head held high, twist things to her advantage and to pride herself on her abilities and only on her abilities alone. While she sometimes does fail at this task, she is generally good at never overestimating nor underestimating people's skills, instead keeping a cool composure in any sort of battle she may face. Her socializing skills are also put to use a lot and she has had to learn how to make small talk and to converse with others properly and kindly. This differs her as well from the Uchiha norm that pretends to be greater-than-thou-art, seeing as she makes a great effort to be at eye-level with people she converses with and being open to their ideas as well. She at least attempts to get along with other people, teasing and employing a playful attitude with those younger than her and a respectful attitude with those older than her. On the other hand, Mikoto uses her eloquency to her advantage through her words, learning to weild her position in the clan to work her way around limitations.
Another not-so-seen personality trait of Mikoto is her slightly nosy, hopeless romantic side, in which all she wants is to pair everyone up with their one true love. Even if it doesn't work out at the start, the Uchiha has been known for her little subtle 'nudges', such as the one that pushed Kushina and Minato closer together. Above all, one of the most important aspects of Mikoto's personality is that she is a mother, a mother at heart, mind and soul. She will, like normal mothers, fuss over everyone and anyone while still attempting to not crowd the receiver of her affection. As a mother, Mikoto will love regardless of what anything that has happened, similar to canon where she forgives Itachi in the end with the kindness and gentleness of a mothering heart.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Mental, emotional, and physical. This can be a bullet point explanation.

Fluidly, Mikoto's hand moved across the large unraveled scroll in front of her, her swirling writing curling and speaking to her as she transferred down her thoughts on different aspects that needed to be addressed by the Hokage. Though she had found the fact that she was assigned to provide more reports as a member of the Konoha Council annoying and absolutely detested the fact that through the reports placed a greater load of work upon the already work burdened Hokage, the Uchiha lady was at least pleased she could properly spend time with her family and friends.
Finishing finally the long winded sentence upon the page, she places down the pen and stretches her cramped hands and arms, slowly moving out of the kneeling position she had been situated. Muffling a delicate yawn with one hand, she noted the time on a clock beside her before heading towards the kitchen to prepare some tea for herself, all the whilst noting that she would soon need to also prepare some onigiri, tomato soup and more tea for the rest of her predominately male family. Rolling her eyes at that rather amusing thought, she nonchalantly pours out her tea in the traditional manner, always out of habit and never out of necessity. Looking around the empty house, Mikoto abandons her list-of-things to do, instead picking up her cup to sit outside in the sunshine and watch the people pass.
While she was young, she was naive. However, after being introduced into her role as Uchiha Matriarch, she had realized that there was more to life that just her, namely the people, her relatives, family and friends that surrounded her. With a smile, she offers some sweets to passing Uchiha and non-Uchiha children, all the while greeting and chatting with a few of the residents.
Glancing back behind her into the Uchiha manor, Mikoto shakes her head and closes the door after her. Her sons and husband could take care of herself for one day at least with the leftovers. For now, she would just wander the beautiful streets of Konoha, enjoying life to its fullest.
Bracket sample:
[Mikoto sits quietly during the meeting with the Clan Elders by her husband's size, poised with her head held high, back straight; the picture of a submissive Uchiha Matriarch complete. With narrow eyes and a small smile, she listens to the debates of the senile elders, biding her time. When she notices a lull in the detestable conversation, she speaks up, her voice clear above the silence.]
As heir of the Uchiha Clan and my son, I do understand that Uchiha Itachi has certain responsibilities; with continuing our bloodline as one. I recall that the Elders gathered here wished for a marriage as soon Itachi came of age, meaning the point in time he becomes Jonin.
[Smoothly, her tone takes a sharp turn and she intones all of her words instead of pushing emotion into them. She sighs forlornly, completing the picture on an innocently grieving mother.]
Though you accused me, the Uchiha Matriarch, of having a hand in the results, I did not under any means urge the Hokage to disapprove of my son, hardly a teenager, from being married; instead I merely...warned him of the situation.
[Her eyes flash red for a moment before she smiles, sincerely this time with motherly affection and continues her speech.]
Uchiha Clan Elders, tell me, do you know whether Itachi Uchiha, now of age, would accept a forced arranged marriage? A prodigy to graduate at 7, yes, but my son will surely disapprove of this rather forceful notion. Perhaps he will listen to his Mother when I advise him to, say... deal with those who stand against his opinion? After all, our Uchiha heir is rather influential in the ranks...
[She nods her head respectfully at the elders before glancing at her son in the corner of the room and shooting him a reassuring smile.]
Missive Sample:
Kushina,
I am sorry to say this, but with the assistance of dear Sasuke, I will be dragging your lovely Naruto (plus dear little Hinata) to my home during your absence in Konoha. As much as I do want to leave this issue in your supposedly 'responsible' care, I've decided (against Fugaku's wishes, if it makes you feel any better) to force feed your son healthier foods that does not practically scream ramen. And yes, I know that ramen is the source of all life and beings, quoted ever so kindly by your son, but Naruto is a growing boy that shouldn't be living on a diet of ramen, no matter how many flavors there might be. And as much as you know I love you, I will also be furthermore forcing your whole ramen loving family to be eating dinner ever so often with our family.
Just look at my dear Sasuke, a grown young man who eats tomatoes like your son eats ramen, but is actually growing into a handsome and strong boy that I very much hope will kick your son's ass love. No hard feelings Kushina, you know
Love, Mikoto.
